Get the Look is a design series where I share design ideas for various rooms. Sometimes this content is shaped by my community. This round has been inspired by various client projects, all around converting guest bedrooms into work-from-home offices.

Every year, the industry puts its great minds together and comes up with the latest trends that will dictate the design direction of that year. Much like in fashion, colours, fabrics, and materials are selected. I can only imagine how confusing it must be for you when you just want to have a beautiful home.

I might get some backlash for writing this but, did anybody else notice that as soon as the 2nd of January hit, almost all the interior design accounts on Instagram launched into projects like changing the bedroom look, uplifting the living room, x, y, z trend predictions, colour predictions, ad collaborations, etc. I really felt annoyed by this because it perpetuates this idea of buying stuff you don't always or really need so that you can feel "better in your home". So I had to say something about this trend of creating interior design trends.
