A 2-bedroom apartment in Edinburgh for a private client. The project was designed in a casual and modern Contemporary style with Scandinavian and Mid-Century influences while respecting the existing interior architecture and character of the space.

The client felt the flat lacked personality and colour, and wanted to introduce more character into the space. We focused on creating a calm, inviting space, full of character and personality, by using my client’s favourite colours (green, pink and beige), and incorporating some of her existing pieces of furniture, such as the sofa, mirror above the fireplace and tv sideboard.

The flat itself is quite tall and narrow, so in order to create the feeling of space, we decided to paint the ceiling a dark green to "bring" it down and create more "proportional" spaces. We've played on the existing green sofa and added dark green acoustic panels on the living room and master bedroom walls to help reduce the echo in these rooms. No modifications were made to the existing structure.
